A common requirement of business intelligence users is to add annotations and commentary to dashboards. Attaching commentary adds a great deal of value because it puts information in context and avoids unnecessary investigation by the report consumers. If an unexpected result is displayed in the dashboard, concerns can be mitigated by a comment explaining the result and outlining initiatives being implemented to correct the situation. Without commentary, the dashboard might be perceived as the messenger with the bad news.

Unfortunately, this capability is not available out-of-the-box in the majority of BI platforms, including Oracle BI Enterprise Edition (Siebel Analytics). Based on customer requirements and to meet this gap in the Oracle BI EE portfolio, Rosetta Stone has developed a commentary / discussion board module which can be seamlessly embedded in Oracle Interactive Dashboards.
