Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA) are complete, prebuilt Data Warehouse solutions out of the box. Deciding whether to buy OBIA is a classic buy versus build decision. You need to evaluate whether OBIA is a sensible commercial decision for you. Try answering these questions:

1. Can you clearly describe what positive business impact the implementation of OBIA should achieve?

2. Would you like to understand the technical components that make up the OBIA solution to better understand whether you have the required skill set to implement and support the environment?

3. It is very unlikely that you will get close to 100% fit to your requirements which will leave you with a need to modify or enhance the OBI Applications. Would you like to understand what effort will be needed to complete these enhancements and how easy it would be for you to do that?

4. You have existing infrastructure and probably standards for architecture, operating systems, security and platform vendors. Would it be useful to understand how well the OBI Applications will fit in?

Gaining enough confidence in the questions posed above is not a trivial undertaking to be answered in a single workshop, however, if you already know the answer to question number one then we
